Baby Must-haves to make your life easier

Here’s my list of baby items based on loosely remembering what was essential for my first two babies. I hope to edit and update this list once baby girl comes to really give my two cents on what works now and what’s unneccessary. My approach for this late in life baby is focusing on things that make life easier to ideally maintain our up-and-go lifestyle with my two older boys!

Baby essentials

Make your life easier items

Diaper Bag/ I currently carry a style similar to this as my backpack/purse but smaller, so I’m hoping I like this too. Plus the price tag was right coming in at under $50!

Changing Basket/ Hello pretty and functional! I liked that this could easily move from room to room, makes for cute photo ops, and ideally will be used beyond baby.

Velcro Swaddles/ Wrap them up. I swore by swaddles like these with my first two babies. We tend to make high energy, hit themselves in the face type kids, so these are essential.

Baby carrier/ This is the ergo style but without the steep price tag. As an older mama, I need the back support strap that provides extra support and picked a color the whole family wouldn’t mind wearing, bonus of having older kids, everyone gets to wear the baby.

Graco Bassinet Sleep 2 Sense/ The item I hemmed and hawed over the most is the bassinet and frankly, which one!? While I was tempted by the heavy priced snoo, I couldnt bring myself to pull the trigger on it, plus it doesnt ship to military addresses. I came across this gem in my research of “smart bassinets” and feel this does idential things to the snoo…motion, white noise, cry detection, music, and vibration-SOLD. Will give an update on whether this extends sleep or not in my book!

Pivot Evenflo travel system/ This is availabe in our exchange here on island plus the reviews are glowing and I love the neutral color, will report back on functionality.

Bibs pacifiers/ Hallelujah for baby items finally coming in earth toned beautiful colors. My boys were both binky lovers, so I imagine she will be too, I’ll let you know her favorite once she’s here!

Car Seat & Nursing Cover/ Gimme all the multi-purpose baby gear. This muslin cloth doubles as a car seat cover and nursing cover. I’m guessing here…but I think i prefer the covers that are less clingy, loose, and lightweight fabric like this one.

Kate Quinn baby wear/ I was feeling good about my so-called self-control in buying all the cute baby things until I met Kate Quinn. Whoa. The organic fabric, affordable price point, fast shipping, and ridiculously gorgeous prints….made for me.

Wipe Warmer/This one seems like a non-essential, but trust me it is. If you care about your sleep like I do, you will do everything you can to not fully wake up baby in those middle of the night feedings like warmed up wipes. They made seem “extra” but trust me when I say every baby hates a cold wipe to the bum and nothing wakes them up faster, making the wipe warmer essential for making your life easier.

Travel changing pad/ If you like to go go go like our family does, you will appreciate this compact, wipeable changing pad with a great price point, coming in at under $20!
