Great Wolf Lodge Virginia things to know

The last time we were at Great wolf lodge was years and years ago, but 10 years later and my oldest still remembers it! Our time there created such a core memory with the waterslides and wolf atmosphere, he never forgot!

Our promise to return did not disappoint! Now, with our boys much older and able to freely roam the hotel equaled a relaxing parent time together! The boys (16 and 11) split their time on the waterslides and the magic quest game, we literally only saw them back in the room for meals and sleep!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a really nice receptionist who offered to give us a FREE room upgrade! I cannot begin to tell you how much this means with three kids, one being a wild 2 year old toddler! We went from the standard room to a room with two queens, and king suite with kitchenette, it was glorious. We cannot recommend the great wolf lodge in Williamsburg virignia enough, 10 out of 10! Here’s what you need to know if you decide to go!

Things to know before you go

The wristbands are your room keys. I found this feature to be such a relief, because we are that family who loses all the keycards no matter how many they give us. You can also add your credit card to the wristband so when you are hungry by the pool or want something from the gift shop, just swipe your wristband!

The toddler area is wonderful. If you have littles, the waterpark area will be a dream for you. With waterslides just their size, a zero entry pool, and spray just their height.

Magi quest will keep your school age kids busy for hours. This is a quest type game that uses a wand you purchase in the shop to activate various spots using a map, game spots are on all 3 floors of the hotel. They keep their wands and if you ever return, pick up the game right where they left off. My boys LOVED this and played for hours and even made friends with other kids roaming the halls.

Dance parties daily. The hotel schedules daily actives, such as character meetings, arts n crafts, and dance parties in the evening. You can find all their updated schedules for each day on their app, free to download.I found these activity to be so fun for the littles, my toddler was in heaven.

Wolf ears are free. Great Wolf Lodge really understands how to deliver an experience and handing out complimentary wolf ears was such a nice touch to really reinforce their brand and help guests feel part of of hotel theme!

Waterslide park opens before your room does! Check in time is typically 4pm for your room, but you can arrive and use the waterpark starting at 1pm on your check in day.
