Our Historic Colonial fixer upper (circa 1758), the before pics

We have a new baby, just moved back to the United States after 4 1/2 years of living in Okinawa Japan, and are transitioning to retirement, so we thought why not start a new adventure and buy a historic fixer upper. To be clear we’ve only ever owned one home and built it brand new, but didn’t love our experience, so it sorta made sense to do the opposite and buy old!

I can’t tell you who lived in our home previously but he’s pretty famous in terms of American History, in fact we might be British if it weren’t for his role during the American revolutionary War. So he’s kinda a big deal which makes the house a big deal.

Our plans for the home are to renovate while keeping as much history as possible but modernizing and updating what’s been neglected, which is alot. The entire third floor is gutted, so we have a pretty blank slate. Here’s the before pics, can’t wait to share the afters! Keep in mind we bought this sight unseen and as is, #risktakers.
