The Diy’s of the nursery

*My nursery was selected for a contest, so if you would be so kind and generous to head over here and vote for my nursery by leaving a comment there, I would be so grateful!!!
The three major DIY’s of the nursery were the roman shade, the mobile and the changing table. Here they are in their state of before and afters!
For the roman shade I simply followed my own roman shade tutorial and spray glued and hot glued my way to a window dressing! This was the cheapest of all with the burlap at 2$ a yard and some ribbon.
I”m impossible at straight lines so I used painters tape to help me out!

Decoupaging letters is the perfect task to do with kids! Its messy, haphazard, and easy. To be honest its best to do with really thin “decoupage” paper, but I fell in love with this butterfly paper at michaels! The key is simply lathering on lots of mod podge all over the letter and the paper then folding it on.

The “before”state of the “changing table” at goodwill.
I spray painted the whole thing High gloss black, then taped off the parts I wanted to spray paint gold.
A key note is the high gloss black takes about two days to dry otherwise it will react with the gold, trust me on this one! Add your favorite hardware and voila!
