This post stems from a conversation I had with a patient the other day, who was pretty sick. She was grieving her illness because its preventing her from enjoying retirement. It truly motivated me to live now; carpe diem! Here’s some images from this week that capture this mantra for me.
Ask God to change your perspective if your stuck in a rut or can’t understand something.
Perspective is everything and life is way to short to hold onto things.
Travel! Going places will change the way you view yourself and the world, even if its the next state over, it does wonders for me. Don’t wait for the perfect time to go (i.e when kids are grown, when we have the money) go now!
Love with everything you’ve got, not just your family and friends, but even your enemies.
{John 15:13}
Celebrate everything, even the little things…i.e potty trained children, new jobs, getting up the driveway in the snow, a spiritual breakthrough. {Rejoice again I say rejoice! Phil 4:4}
Be bold. Find your passion, hone your trade and do it all for the glory of God. {1Cor10:31}
This is a list that has gotten away from me! I hope to reflect on it and put into practice, so when I get towards the end, there will be no regrets!
Have a lovely weekend!
Maria, I really needed this today! So thank you for such a heartfelt post. I'm going to write some of these verses down. After a couple of bummer weeks in our household it's so true about perspective. I am truly blessed when I look past all the gunk going on.
