If you are on the fence about whether to capture your maternity season, let me give you a reason you haven’t thought of yet- your baby, when they are older will absolutely LOVE seeing that bump in images, knowing it was them!
For our maternity photo sessions, we pick an outdoor location in Fredericksburg Va, I have a ton of favorite spots, check them out here! Then as soon as baby is born, you text or email me and we schedule the newborn photo session, 10-12 days following the birth!
Newborns are one of my specialties! They truly are an art from, as is, period. My approach after ten years of photographing these little gifts is a natural approach, baby is comfy, wrapped, and gently placed in baskets and organic props. I have truly honed the craft of gently leading babies in comfy “posed” positions, creating timeless photos you will love for a lifetime.
Maternity + Newborn Packages
I offer three different types of packages for my newborn sessions: Maternity + newborn session, Mini newborn session and newborn + Family session. The Maternity and newborn session includes a maternity session in a Fredericksburg location, and the newborn session in your home. The Mini newborn session is baby only, this best-selling session, includes 3-4 posed setups, in props that I provide customized to your color preferences. I provide the swaddles, hats, headbands, and baskets. You get to set back, relax and watch your dreamy newborn. This session typically takes 45min-hour.
The Newborn + Family session is 3-4 setups, plus family pictures including siblings and any family pets! Again, I bring everything needed- all the props, headbands, hats, and swaddles, set up to your best window light and then we family photos after the newborn images.
When to Schedule Newborn Session
This is KEY! Please schedule when you are expecting because the real secret to these sessions is photographing baby within the first 10-14 days of the birth, otherwise I can’t guarantee sleepy, curly images that you see pictured here!
Maternity + Newborn Pricing Packages
The newborn Mini is $249, which includes the session, 30+ digital images, and all the props, everything.
The Newborn + Family session is $295 which indulges the session, 60+ digital images, and all the props! Please note if you live outside of a 30 mile radius there is a travel fee of $30. I do all the newborn sessions within your home next to your best window light, for your convenience.
What to Wear
For maternity sessions, check out my favorite picks here! I love dresses that you can actually walk and move around in because we move from spot to spot in the photoshoot, trying to give you as much variety as possible! Another quick tip, be mindful of your shoes in outdoor locations- a super high heel will sink in the ground, so keep comfort and function in mind!
For the newborn sessions, I wrap the babies in the colored wraps which helps keep them happy, calm, and sleepy. I dont recommend an outfit because they are typically super big and dont keep their limbs contained, remember you can have them in cute outfits for the rest of their life, but the newborn stage is the only time they like a swaddle@! For family pictures with a newborn, here’s a guide but keep the clothes relatively neutral or simple colors, so the baby remains the star of the image!
