Let me stress to you the importance of family portraits on your wedding day, IT’S IMPORTANT! Now, that I’ve yelled at you in all caps, let me explain. While family portraits, the ones with all your family members, everyone looking at the camera and smiling aren’t that exciting or even creative from a photographer’s stand point, they matter. The people you are capturing on your wedding day are members of the family that range in age and may not always be there, similarly for the younger crowd, they grow and change. These are keepsake images that freeze time and help you remember who was there that day and are a beautiful record of those precious people.
Since my own father has passed away, the photos I have of him were on my wedding day and wow, I wish we had more, way more. So please, please do not skim over these classic family photos, while sometimes hard to corral and those member, delegate someone to gather them and make sure they get their picture taken.
Chelsea and TJ did an elopement, but had me photograph their friends and family members for the reception held in downtown Fredericksburg. These photos were taken at Chatham Manor, simply the best photos spot in historic Fredericksburg. Just keep in mind it closes at 5pm each day, so make sure you don’t get the gate closed on you!
