Packing the hospital bag with printable checklist

I found other people’s list so helpful with guiding my own, so I thought I’d do one and share too! We will be having little sister at the Naval Hospital here in Okinawa Japan, so I’ll be sure to come back and update this post after our experience, including what they issue to you (hello hospital mesh underwear) and what they don’t. Here’s a printable list for mom, Dad, and baby, a visual board of the pretty things plus a video going over most items if you prefer watching that!

Hospital Bag links from visual board>

Zipper footie– This is Kate Quinn brand- affordable, soft, and ships quick to FPO/AP. I’m already hooked.

Canon M50 Mirrorless camera– We are having a photographer come for a fresh 48 session, but we will grab video, since our family and kids can’t be with us of all the other details. This mirrorless camera really soars in the video department, highly recommend.

Pretty robe– This is solely for pictures the next day if I’m feeling up to it, if not I supported a great etsy small shop!

Car Seat– In the past, the hospital didn’t let you leave without verifiying your car seat, so this is one we found at the furniture store on base. We picked the most comfy, lightweight, affordable one we could find!

Always Discreet Postpartum underwear– I’m a fan of the hospital issued mesh underwear, but eventually you run out of those so I grabbed these at the exchange for reinforcements.

Haven & Pine labor and delivery kit– In light of 2020 pandemic, this special touch feels essential. This kit to makes your hopsital room feel warm and welcoming- fairy lights, name banner, hat, pacifier, lotion, etc, thoughtful touches since family is missing.

Velcro Swaddles- I loved these so much last time, I’m bringing them to the hospital, much easier and faster for wrapping a newborn!

Caden Lane rainbow gown– Outfit just for photos, extra special for those rainbow babies.

Comfy slippers– Bring all the footwear to the hospital-my bag includes, socks with traction, shower shoes, and these slippers!

Caden Lane wood name plate– For announcing the baby’s name!

Nursing Bras– I found these on amazon and have already been wearing them, super comfy.

Peri Bottle– Last time the hospital issued these to everyone, but I found these pretty cheap on amazon too, so I’m bringing it!

Bibs pacifier– My first- born took a pacifier right away particuarly because he was a bili baby and we couldn’t hold him since he spent 4 days under the lights, so the pacifier was a lifesaver to comfort him.
